A Triond widget is a tool that showcases your content published on our websites.
Up to 10 of your most recently published content items (photos, articles, videos, audio) will appear on the widget.
There are four different types of widgets available:
Normally, each type of widget will feature content from that category type. However, if, for example, you choose to feature 10 items on an article widget, but do not have 10 published articles, the widget will provide links to your other recent content.
The widget can be embedded on to your personal pages, such as a blog, MySpace page, personal website, etc.
By placing your widget in various places, more people will be able to see what you have published on Triond. You can choose to make your widget to show only 3 items, 10 items, or however many you feel will work. If you want to feature a particular piece of content you recently published, try minimizing the number of content items you choose to showcase. If you would like the widget to be used as an easy bookmark tool for all of your content, it's better to choose a higher number.
Go to the webpage for the particular widget you wish to embed. You may choose one that features your content on Loudio, Picable, Kleep, and your Articles.
Within the box entitled "Widget Settings," insert your Triond Pen Name. There are other options within the settings box, but they are optional and purely cosmetic. You will see these changes in the "Preview" box on the right of "Settings."
Next, click "Get Widget." From here, you will be asked to choose one of many servers, in which you may place your widget.
There are step-by-step instructions after this process. Here's a run down of three popular ones:
For Blogger: Click the orange symbol for Blogger. A pop-up window will appear with a button that says, "Install Panel." Click on the button. Another window will open, entitled "Add Page Element." Make sure that you are signed in to Blogger. From the dropdown list, "Select a Blog," choose the particular blog you would like to add the Triond Widget. Feel free to change the title of your Widget. Click "Add Widget" at the bottom, and you're done!
Google: Click the "G" symbol for Google. In the pop-up window that appears you will see a button that says, "Install Widget." Click this button. A window will open, entitled "Personalize Your Homepage." Check the box that says "See this gadget when you visit Google.com." Click on the button "Add to Google." You will now be able to see the Triond Widget on your Google homepage.
For Personal Website/Myspace/And More: Go to your HTML editor at the server you use. Copy and paste the code for your Widget into the text box. Save.
If you place your Triond Widget on a personal website or blog, only your friends or others who frequent your site will be likely to see it. If it is placed on a more public or high-traffic Internet location, anyone who passes by will be able to view your links.
